Volcanoes and Prairies as Landforms



Being informed on some of the popular landforms is helpful for you, since most natural calamities are affected by those landforms. Knowing their physical characteristics and the reason why they are formed is necessary, so that when you find one, you can brag about the knowledge on it. This is even more helpful for the students who are tackling up subjects tackling the different types of landforms.

Among the most popular landforms is the volcano. Who will not know what this landform is? This is a type of landform which is also considered as the most powerful yet helpful on some ways. Volcano is a type of mountain wherein it emits hot lava. Most of the time, the irregular activity inside it causes earthquakes, which can lead to destruction. The emission of lava is also dangerous, as it can easily destroy massive number of properties just below the landform. This is the reason why this landform is the most monitored type of landform by the authorities.

Another type of landform would be the prairie. This is very typical on some parts of the United States. This is usually a flat surface wherein grasses are seen since it is always wet. Prairies are just the outcome of drought on shallow parts of the river or other water forms.  This is the reason why you will usually find prairies on summer season.  In short, prairie is a landform which is formed due top the effects of evaporation on a specific body of water.

Landforms: A Beautiful Creation



Landforms are naturally generated area. It may include hilly area, different sloppy track, Volcano Mountain, oceans, sea space, mid ocean ridges and an island etc. which occasionally increases the beauty of particular area. It also includes bays, peninsulas and seas. Landforms are categorized by different physical attributes like rock exposure, slopes and ridges of mountain. Ponds and different lacks are part of landforms. Huge lakes are generated due to falling of space matter in the land. Best example of this kind of events is table hills. Table hills are the flat area on the mountain. Some landforms include peaks as on kufari (shimala, India), channels as at leh-ladakh, ridges as on Himalaya mountain range, and many more examples.
Numbers of factors responsible for generation of landforms are erosion, falling of space matter, plate tectonics and deposition. One should note that landform do not includes men made features like canals, ports, harbors and other geographical features like deserts, forests, grass lands etc. are also not included.
